Saving Star

I recently discovered this app for my phone. It's pretty neat.
It has specific coupons that if you purchase these items, your coupon savings go into an account. Once you have saved at least $5, you can redeem. I had $11 saved up and wanted it put onto a Amazon card.  There are several choices, bank, PayPal, Amazon, and a couple othere I had never heard of.
I was a little sceptical if I would ever see my money, but as promised they sent a code for a gift card and I added it to my account. WooHoo!!
Now I will let you in on a little secret, most of these coupons also come out in your Sunday paper. If you are going to save once, you might as well save twice.
Depending where in the USA you are, there are several different stores you can use with your Saving Star. It links with your"loyalty" cards.  For example: Kroger, Rite Aid, CVS, etc.
One more way to save some money, catch these items on sale!
I found out if CVS has an in-store coupon for an item, and you have a manufacturer coupon, you can use those together and save!!
I have also found out that with the three stores I have in my area, CVS posts the fastest to my Saving Star account.
I am so excited to say this app is a keeper!!

127 Yard Sale

The Hwy. 127 Yard sales run from Alabama to Michigan, every year the first weekend of August, Thursday-Sunday.
The short stretch I traveled today, was extremely busy. I started at Jamestown Ky and finished up in Danville Ky.
I saw cars from Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina, Illinois, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, Missouri and Nebraska.
One can find anything from fresh homegrown produce to just about anything one can imagine. From ten foot carved wooden bears, to glassware collectors paradise, and all kinds of junk ( I mean treasures, lol), furniture of every era, (in all kinds of conditions), clothing, tools, fishing poles. Something for everyone!
Oh and I didn't mention the food! There were several road side barbeque stands, that smelled great. Several churches were offering sandwiches and plate dinners and hotdog meals.  Some offered fresh baked sweets. I was planning on stopping at one of the local restaurants, The Bread of Life Cafe, but they were packed!

KROGER

Did you know Kroger has a Friday freebie?
If you are signed up to get Kroger emails and/ or the Kroger app, you can get the FREEBIE!!!  But you MUST request the FREEBIE either by reading your email and adding it to your"loyalty" card or opening app and adding it to your card there. Your Kroger app will be linked to your loyalty card once you sign up. It's free. Free is always good!
There have been some really good items and then a couple I didn't care for, I got them anyway. I shared those with someone else.
On your Kroger app, you can also add coupons. You pick and choose the ones you're interested in purchasing. No need to clip and tear out of the Sunday paper. They will not accept both for the same item. BooHoo...
Now on a different note, it does take a little longer for me to shop for groceries since I am having to stop and look at phone app but it has saved some money that I might have missed otherwise. I don't always get the Sunday paper and all the coupons.
One more thing, the Kroger in my area doubles coupons up to 50 cents. I don't believe they double the Kroger app coupons.  :(
In this way the manufacturer paper coupons would be better.
I hope this helps you save some money and don't forget your Friday freebie!!
